Though the cold and rainy weather on Friday was a dreary start to the Memorial Day weekend, several businesses in downtown Perham tried not to let the weather dampen spirits.

Sugar and Spice and Jezebel are both are celebrating grand opening events this weekend.

Sugar and Spice is celebrating the grand opening of its new tea shoppe, which offers drinks such as tea lattes, iced tea, shakes, chai shakes and lattes, hot tea and more. Jezebel, located at 159 First Ave S in Perham, is offering in-store specials for its grand opening, lasting until Saturday, May 28. Make Me Wine, located on the same block, is celebrating its one-year anniversary this weekend. Owner Mary Roberts said that she would be having in-store sales, including 15 percent off wine racks, the chance to register for gift baskets and free food and beverages.
