Mader joins Perham Health as certified diabetes educator
Perham Health is pleased to announce Rose Mader, RN, CDE, has joined its clinics in New York Mills and Perham. As a certified diabetes educator, Mader provides counseling to help patients self-manage their diabetes. She has spent the past 36 years with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester., 27 years of which she served as a diabetes educator.
"As a certified diabetes educator, I have worked both in the hospital and clinic settings to educate and support people affected with diabetes," said Mader, a Perham native. "My role is to help my patients understand and manage diabetes."
Mader has been involved in diabetes research and has extensive experience working in a diabetes technology clinic with patients who used insulin pumps and sensors to manage their diabetes.
A graduate from Perham High School, she earned her Bachelors of Science in nursing from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn. Mader and her husband, Greg, have three children, all married, and five grandchildren, with two more on the way. Her parents are Patrick and Ellen Doll. Mader enjoys reading and is an active walker. She and her husband have a goal to walk every street in the city of Perham and are well on their way charting their progress on a city map since starting their trek Oct. 3.

My passion is to provide people with the knowledge and tools to empower them to manage their diabetes for the best outcomes."
