MS Pizza Ranch fundraiser in Perham is April 24

With March, which is designated Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month, a recent memory, the local MS group is planning a fundraiser to support the upcoming MS Walk.

Walk MS Team Go-Getters will raise the money during a Perham Pizza Ranch fundraiser, scheduled Monday, April 24, from 5-7p.m. The MS Walk is planned Sunday, May 7, at M-State, Fergus Falls. Registration and the walk begin at 11 a.m.

During March, organizers of events hope to ensure that more people understand what life with MS can be like, and engage more people to do something about it. When residents connect with one another, everyone becomes stronger than MS — and breakthroughs are possible that individuals could not do alone.

What is an MS breakthrough?

• It's being able to button your shirt in the morning.

• It's getting back up on that bike, that surfboard, that horse.

• It's feeling strong enough to fall in love.

• It's continuing the job you were made for.

• It's being resilient to the challenges you face.

• It's knowing that no one will hear the words 'you have MS' ever again.

The MS community unites to demonstrate that "Together we are Stronger. Together we will Breakthrough MS."

MS is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that interrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body and can stop people from moving. There is no cure and the cause is unknown, however research is being done giving people affected the hope that soon a cure will be found.
