2 adults found dead in Bagley, Minn.
GRAND FORKS - A longtime state court administrator in Clearwater and Hubbard counties was found dead in her Bagley, Minn., home Monday, say neighbors and county officials.
Darlene Gerbracht, 64, had retired in the past year or so after years as administrator of the state district courts in Bagley and Park Rapids, Minn., said county board members.
“It’s terrible, what happened,” said John Chevalier, longtime county board member.
The body of Gerbracht’s son, Jack Gerbracht, 41, also was found in her home when police were called Monday evening, said Lila Ricke, who lives next door. Ricke said Police Chief Larry Peterson asked her today if she had heard anything and confirmed the mother and son had died from gunshots.
Peterson said today that a third person discovered the two bodies and called 911 about 6 p.m. Monday.
Ricke said she heard nothing Monday evening at her neighbor’s home.
Peterson said the bodies were in Grand Forks Tuesday where autopsies were conducted, but said he could not say much yet about the deaths.
But he said there is no public safety concern connected with the deaths.
Nobody has been arrested and there is no search for anyone and no one else was injured, Peterson said.
Bagley, which has about 1,400 residents, is 27 miles west of Bemidji on U.S. Highway 2.
