20th annual Perham Trade and Home Show this weekend
For 20 years, the Perham Area Trade and Home Show has been a staple of the community.
Like years past, the show will feature demonstrations, displays and entertainment. Guests can expect a variety of attractions for all ages.
The event is Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 19-20 at the Perham Area Community Center, 620 3rd Ave. SE.
Saturday, Feb. 19
On Saturday, a fishing seminar will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by piano entertainment by Patrick Murphy at 11:30 a.m. Comedian Jon DeBoer will perform at noon followed by a Just for Kix demonstration at 1 p.m. At 2 p.m. another fishing seminar will be held. Fishing seminars are sponsored by Hoots Sports and Lund Boats. Attendees will learn techniques for use on local lakes.
Face painting, glitter tattoos, roaming vocal music by Perham High School choir students and a kid's bouncer will be featured throughout the day.
Free fingerprinting will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon, sponsored by the Perham Police Department and East Otter Tail Daycare Association.
Sunday, Feb. 20
On Sunday, piano music by Patrick Murphy will be featured at noon, followed by comedian John DeBoer at 12:30 p.m. The fishing seminar will be held at 1:30 p.m. and a Tae Kwon Do demonstration will be held at 2 p.m. Ongoing throughout the day will be an archery demonstration, balloon tying and a kids' bouncer.
Both days will kick off with Mason's pancake breakfast from 8-11 a.m. in the multipurpose room. Guests are asked to enter at the north door. A free will donation will be accepted. Net proceeds from the breakfast will go to the Zach Gabbard fund.
Concessions will be sold by the Perham Lions in the entryway and by Perham Lakes Lions at the lower level.
A nitrate testing clinic, sponsored by the East Otter Tail Soil and Water Conservation District will be held both days. Call Deb at 218-346-4260 ext. 113 for more information.
Members of the Perham Rotary are offering free food samples from Perham industries including Kenny's Cando Co., Barrel O' Fun, Bongards' Creameries, Dean's Country Market and Perham Co-op Creamery. Pet food samples from Tuffy's will also be available.
Entrance is $3 and free for anyone under the age of 6. Cost is $10 for a family. Proceeds benefit the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce and Perham Area Community Center.
Youth activities are made possible in part by a donation from the Perham Lions Club.
