Alice Madson, 85, of Lake Park, died peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2008, with her family at her side, at Innovis Hospital in Fargo.
Alice was born to Jentoft and Lillian (Olson) Larson on Oct. 4, 1922, in Cormorant Township, near Lake Park, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. She lived with her family for a brief time in VanPort, Ore.
Alice married J. Donald Madson on Sept. 18, 1946, in Lake Park. Following their marriage, they farmed near Lake Park. They moved into Lake Park in 1982. Donald died on July 22, 1996. Alice was a long time active member of Lake Park Lutheran Church, where she was a quilter. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Lake Park, and the Lake Park Seniors Club.
Alice is survived by three sons, Gary (Susan) Madson John (Mary Lu) Madson and Glen (Pam) Madson all of Lake Park; one daughter, Jean (Eldon) Griffin of Coon Rapids, Minn.; two brothers, Walter (EuDell) Larson of Hawley and Charles (Bernie) Larson of Lake Park; one sister, Leona Norman of Lake Park; nine grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Donald; one son, Bruce Madson; and two brothers, Albert and Ernest Larson.
Alice's family is grateful for the care and compassion shown her at Innovis Hospital in Fargo.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 30, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Wright Funeral Home, Lake Park.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, with interment following at Lake Park Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lake Park.
