Alleged JC’s General Store burglar charged
Charged in Otter Tail County Court on June 25, with third degree burglary, was Nathan Allen Welch, 31, of Dalton. The charges relate to a break-in on June 20 at JC’s General Store in Dalton.
Court administration records state that Welch is alleged to have entered a building without consent and with intent to steal or commit a felony while in the structure. He had reportedly been in the building beforehand, during regular business hours.
Entry was reportedly made through an unlocked door at 8 p.m. The door had mistakenly been left unlocked after business hours.
Detectives later found items in Welch’s home that included cans of tobacco, lottery tickets and other items that were linked to the store.
The next court appearance for Welch will be July 8.
