Angle numbers drop, but walleyes are being caught on minnows
Work minnows deep during the day and crankbaits in shallow water at night for walleyes on lakes such as Otter Tail, Clitherall, Big Pine, and West Battle. You'll find good-sized sunfish in 12 to 18 feet on Elbow Lake and Blanche Lake. Bass and pike continue to be an easy catch on most lakes, while muskies remain active on West Battle in 18 to 22 feet. Hunting reports have been limited this week.

Sunfish continue to be found on the remaining weed lines of Big Detroit Lake, Floyd Lake, Severson Lake, and Sour Lake. Walleyes are hitting minnows in 20 to 28 feet of water on Lake Melissa, Pelican Lake, and Big Detroit. Muskie action remains favorable on Pelican with artificial and live bait. Bass and northern pike seem to be mixed with the walleyes and easy to catch. Hunting reports have been limited.

PARK RAPIDS AREA
Walleyes are hitting minnows on Long Lake and Fish Hook Lake in 15 to 21 feet of water. Anglers on Long also have connected with northern pike in nine to 14 feet of water. Bass seem to be biting everywhere, but look for bigger fish in the weeds of Big Mantrap Lake, Long, and Fish Hook. A few bears continue to be registered, grouse hunters are seeing birds, and reports were pretty good from youth waterfowl hunters.
