Ann was the oldest daughter of John and Sara Laurents (formerly Sara Grismer of Perham) and was born in Blue Earth, Minn.

Ann lost her husband Michael, of 24 years, in May of this year.

Ann was incredibly outgoing and maintained her sense of humor throughout her battle with her disease and was always caring for others and had a special place in her heart for her cats. While in Junior high school, she arranged sign language classes so classmates of a hearing and speech impaired friend could talk with her.

A volunteer in "court watch" Ann kept her eye on the judicial system and also organized her neighborhood watch.

Ann was a beautician for many years and owned her own salon in Branson, Mo. Ann worked at MetLife for 10 years before becoming totally disabled.

Ann is survived by her sister, April Laurents; brother, John Laurents and his wife, Kelly; sister, Michelle DePrey and her husband Jeff; nephew, Jack Cooper Laurents; and two nieces, Madeline Laurents and Molly DePrey.

A Mass celebrating Ann's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church (8451 Idlewild Road in Charlotte). Following the Mass, the Laurents family will receive friends at their home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The University of Michigan, CADASIL research online: https://leadersandbest.umich.edu/find/#/give/basket/fund/314251 or mailed to University of Michigan with the footnote: "CADASIL research in memory of Ann Wilson."
