Another guilty plea in Pelican murder conspiracy case
A Fergus Falls man, 19-year-old Kevin Forer, is set to be sentenced Oct. 18 in Otter Tail County District Court after pleading guilty to an amended charge of felony first-degree aggravated robbery.
Forer is one of eight people charged in a drug-related murder conspiracy case related to events that occurred in Pelican Rapids last October.
According to court records, the plan was to purchase drugs and then set the house on fire, killing everyone inside. The plan failed when one of the drug sellers drew a gun, left the house, and shot at one of the getaway vehicles.
The original charges of felony second-degree conspiracy to commit murder and felony first-degree conspiracy to commit assault were dismissed as part of Forer’s plea agreement.
In May another suspect in the case, also following a plea agreement, received a two-year prison sentence.
