Arctic Cat to recall 16,000 snowmobiles
Arctic Cat Inc. of Thief River Falls, Minn. is voluntarily recalling roughly 16,500 snowmobiles which could pose safety concerns.
According to a press release from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Arctic Cat has recalled all 2010 Z1, TZ1, F, Bearcat, M and CF model snowmobiles after receiving 13 reports of front lower suspension arms cracking during use. No injuries or accidents have been reported.
The affected snowmobiles were sold nationwide at Arctic Cat dealerships between June 2009 and January 2011, retailing for between $6,800 and $15,000, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Consumers who own any of the snowmobiles covered in the recall are urged to stop using them and contact their local Arctic Cat dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair to correct the potential safety hazard. Registered owners who are affected have also been notified about the recall by mail.
