Perham Summer Tennis League
If you're looking for some summer fun, join the Perham Area Tennis League. The league is free and open to tennis players of all ages and abilities.
The league will meet two nights each week starting Wednesday, June 10. It will run on Wednesday's from 7-9 p.m., and on Sunday's from 4-6 p.m.
Play singles, doubles, mixed doubles, or come in and practice against the ball machine. Arrange your own match ahead of time, or just show up on league nights and play.

6th Annual Roy Isaacson Memorial Golf Tournament at PLGC, June 26
The Otter Tail-Wadena Community Action Council will host their 6th Annual Roy Isaacson memorial Charity Golf Tournament at Perham Lakeside Golf Club on Friday, June 26.
Registration for the 4-person team, 18-hole best ball scramble will start at 12 p.m. The shotgun start will get golfers going at 1 p.m. with dinner and awards to follow.
Cost to enter the tournament is $320 for each team, or $80 per person, which includes golf, golf cart and the meel after the tournament.
Funds raised will be used for emergency and housing assistance to low-income families and individuals in Otter Tail and Wadena Counties. This year's goal is to raise $16,000, an increase of $855 over the 2008 amount.

LAGA Summer Classes
Now is the perfect time to sign up for the Lakes Area Gymnastics Academy's Summer Classes.
All kids agres 3-years-old through sixth grade are encouraged to sign-up. Classes run Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesday's through June and July, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cost per session is $40 per month for six classes, $55 per month for nine classes.

This year's Perham TurtleFest will feature a men's and women's slowpitch softball tournament June 20-21.
Entry fee for both tournament's will be $140 per team, which will include three guaranteed games. All teams must be ASA sanctioned. A $20 saction fee will be due if not.
Camping will be allowed for free in the parking lot and a dance featuring the Unbelievable Uglies will be held Saturday, June 20 at the Peham Pioneer Grounds, located adjacent to the softball fields.

Perham CC Camp July 6-10
Sign up now for the 2009 Perham Yellowjacket Cross Country Camp. The camp will be July 6-10 at Bemidji State University.
Camp activities will include games, "Yuk Wars", swimming, tubing, biking, rock climbing, movie and ice cream night, video gaming, shopping, guest speakers, which include former PHS runners and NCAA collegiate runners, and, of course, running the trails in the area.
The camp will cost $200. Pre-registration is due before June 1.

PLGC Junior Golf
There is still time to sign up for Perham Lakeside's Junior Golf lessons.
PLGC's summer program begins Friday, June 12 and runs for six weeks from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The program is open to all kids ages 4-16 and will cost $55, which includes a t-shirt and a year-end party.
Head PGA Professional Nick Anderson will again be instructing the program, along with Perham Girl's golf coach Cory Solberg and former assistant coach and current St. Henry's Principal Jason Smith.

Average Jo Triathalon
Now is the time to register for the 6th Annual Average Jo Triathlon. This year's fundraising race for Kinship of the Perham Area will be held Saturday, June 27.
The race consists of a 1/3 mile swim in Little Pine Lake, followed by a 12-mile bike ride around Little Pine, topped off by a 3.8 mile run around the Cal Miller Bike Trail.
The race begins, transitions and ends at Paul Miller Park, north of Perham. The Average Jo's hit the water at 8:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.
Individual entry fee is $35, relay teams pay $90. Registration deadline is June 1. Triathletes registering after June 1 will pay an extra $10.
Awards will be given to 1-2-3 places in six age categories plus several other awards.

PHS Volleyball Camp June 25-27
Perham Volleyball is proud to present another fantastic opportunity for Perham area volleyball players to improve their skills by attending Perham's 7th Annual Summer Volleyball Camp June 25-27. This summer's camp features former University of North Dakota head volleyball coaches, Kari and Katy Peterson.
Kari Peterson was appointed interim head coach of the Fighting Sioux on July 29, 2008, after serving the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at UND.
Katy Peterson, former UND Head Coach for 2006 - 2007 seasons, and current Moorhead State assistant. Led UND to a 21-34 overall record and a 6-18 NCC mark. Peterson enjoyed a highly successful playing career at Augustana, winning three NCC titles and leading the Vikings to an NCAA Division II runner-up finish as a senior.
The camp will be held June 25-27 at Prairie Wind Gymnasium in Perham and will be open to area girls entering grades 6 - 12. Cost for Perham athletes will be $75 and non-Perham athletes will be $100. Deadline for registration is June 1.
Girls in grades 6-8 will have camp from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 25-26, and from 9-11 a.m. June 27. Grades 9-12 will have camp from 12:30-3:30 p..m. June 25-26, and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on June 27.
