The Sami are an indigenous Scandinavian people who live in Arctic Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia.

This show of portraits and landscapes evokes Horsma’s cultural heritage and present context for the Finnish-American traditions in the New York Mills region.

Horsma wrote that, “no matter what or how I paint, the destination is the same.  A relative moment of closure and of feeling complete.”

A reception for Horsma will be held by the center on Tuesday, May 28 from 6-8 p.m. All are invited to talk with Horsma and learn about her work as an artist.

There is no charge to view this exhibit.
