Arvig Enterprises finalizes purchase agreement with Home Telephone Co.

Arvig Enterprises, (dba Arvig Communication Systems or ACS) and Home Telephone Company announced today that they have reached an agreement for Arvig Enterprises to acquire Home Telephone Company headquartered in Grand Meadow, Minnesota, which is located 25 miles south of Rochester, Minnesota.

Home Telephone Company currently maintains 1,780 telephone access lines, serves more than 600 Internet customers, and provides cable television service to approximately 300 subscribers through its subsidiary Southern Cablevision.

"The owners of Home Telephone Company and its subsidiary Southern Cablevision, Inc. are pleased to have reached an agreement with a Minnesota-based company with a proven track record of superior service," said Reed Cowan, President of Home Telephone Company.

David Arvig, Chief Operating Officer/Vice President of Arvig Enterprises commented that, "The acquisition of Home Telephone Company is an important step in the strategic growth of our company as a provider of telephone, digital television and Internet in Minnesota."

Home Telephone will continue to operate as a separate subsidiary of Arvig Enterprises and customers will continue to receive service from Home Telephone Company. Home Telephone customers will not experience any changes or interruption in service as a result of the purchase which will become effective upon receipt of required regulatory approvals.
