WADENA — Hopes for a third straight conference title were ironically dashed by rainfall as the Perham Yellowjacets lost 2-0 to Wadena-Deer Creek in a weather-shortened five-inning game Tuesday. Perham won the opening game of the double-dip 2-1 in Mid-State Conference baseball action.

Perham needed to win their final four games in the conference to challenge for the top spot, which will now be decided between No. 20-A Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids and Staples-Motley.
