Becker County authorities still seeking public's help with hit-and-run
Witnesses have provided a detailed drawing/conception of the boat that may have been involved in a hit-and-run accident on Big Cormorant Lake on July 4, the Becker County Sheriff's Office reports.
The accident, which occurred at about 10 p.m., left a West Fargo man seriously injured and his 4-year-old daughter with minor injuries.
The concept drawing is now available online at www.co.becker.mn.us, and officials are asking the public to visit the website and share any information they may have related to the accident.
The boat is believed to be of a 17-feet or larger fiberglass design with a swimmer's platform at-tached to its rear portion.
The investigation is indicating that the boat entered the water at the public access located on the west side of Big Cormorant Lake, adjacent to County Highway 5.
It appears two young adult males and one young adult female were in the boat and probably arrived at the access together.
Anyone who may have used that access in the afternoon/evening hours is asked to contact Sheriff Tim Gordon at 218-847-2661 to help determine a time frame.
