Plans are still on track to have Perham’s Wildflower and Wellness trails complete by the end of June.
At a meeting last week, city councilors agreed to accept the low bid on each trail, as long as the bids are within 10 percent of the engineer’s estimate.
At press time, bids were expected to be in by this Tuesday afternoon.
City Engineer Jade Berube said paving and site work at the Wildflower Trail should cost about $75,000, while the Wellness Trail should cost about $80,000. The flower plantings along the Wildflower Trail will be bid out at a later date.
So long as the trails are complete by June 30, a Minnesota DNR grant will cover a major portion of the project cost, and Perham Health will be covering some of the costs for the Wellness Trail.
