‘Big Band Swing’: Tap your feet and sing along, at Perham UMC
The Perham United Methodist Church will present “Big Band Swing,” songs of the 1930s and `40s, on Friday, June 7 at 7 p.m.
Twenty-one local musicians will participate in this sing-along of some of the greatest songs of the era.
Swing, jazz, and big band music became popular in this period of dust, depression and war. Events of the era include creation of the cheeseburger, air conditioning, the Slinky and the microwave.
The music program will be followed by refreshments in the “Stage Door Canteen.”
There is no cost for admission. Freewill offerings will be accepted, and will be given to the Perham Area Boys and Girls Club.
