Folk legend John McCutcheon will perform Sat. April 10, 7:30 p.m. at RCC. McCutcheon is first rate with the guitar, fiddle, hammered dulcimer, banjo and mandolin. Thanks to his rousing and touching ballads, McCutcheon has acquired six Grammy nominations during a career spanning over 25 albums. Johnny Cash called him, "the most impressive instrumentalist I've ever heard."

Scottish fiddler, Alasdair Fraser, and cellist Natalie Haas, will perform Sat., April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the James Mann Center for Performing Arts at New York Mills Schools.

Fraser operates Culburnie Records, and is one of the leading artists featured on the label. He has helped to revive the Scottish tradition of playing dance music on violin and cello. He is recognized throughout the world as one of the finest fiddle players Scotland has ever produced.

Haas, a graduate of the Julliard School, has played at major events such as the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and has toured and recorded with Mark O'Connor and his Appalachia Waltz Trio and with Natalie MacMaster. Haas teaches at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.

Folk artist Eliza Gilkyson will conclude the series with a 7:30 p.m. performance, April 22, at RCC. Gilkyson first recorded as a vocalist on demos and soundtracks produced by her father. She released Eliza '69. In 1987, Gilkyson began devoting more serious attention to her music with the release of Pilgrim on Gold Castle Records. She has since recorded 14 albums. Her most recent, Beautiful World, was released in 2008.

Tickets for all shows are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Call 218-385-3339 or email jamie@kulcher.org for advanced ticket sales.
