The Countryside Corners 4-H group of East Otter Tail County recently completed a project called “Care and Comfort 4-Hope.”

With the help of a 4-H Cal Mielke Grant, the group bought supplies, and then cut and hand-tied 27 fleece blankets. Those blankets were then packaged with stuffed teddy bears and distributed to police and fire departments in Perham and New York Mills.

The packages will be given to kids in traumatic situations, at the discretion of police and fire officials.

Countryside Corners plans to do the project again next year, with hopes of increasing the number of packages made to 50.
