Blue on Blue fundraiser set for this weekend
Blue is back.
Blue is back.
Perham Hospital District Foundation's annual Blue on Blue fundraiser will be held this Saturday, Nov. 20 at Mulligan's in Perham.
All proceeds from the event go to the Perham Hospital District Foundation.
This year is the third annual Blue on Blue, referencing the décor and theme of the event. This year's color is midnight blue and attendees "will be amazed at how lovely Mulligan's will be that evening," hospital spokeswoman Sue Von Ruden said.
As guests arrive, they are greeted with valet parking. Dinner and dancing follow dinner, which is at 7:30 p.m. Mulligan's chef, Cody Zavadil has put together a special menu for the evening.
The third annual event is planned by the Blue on Blue committee, which consists of five community volunteers: Ellen Ceynowa, Karen Hammers, Trudy Swanson, Jan Parta and Julia Bachelder. The committee dedicated the past two year's proceeds to the endowment fund of the foundation. Contributions in the endowment fund are invested with only the annual earnings used to support activities of Perham Memorial Hospital and Home, according to Von Ruden.
"Because our foundation is in its infancy stages (established in 2004) as compared to other foundations in the area, we're still growing the endowment fund to get it to a level that the earnings are substantial enough to be used," she wrote in an e-mail last week.
The foundation wishes to thank Tom and Kathy Gould at T.A. Gould Jewelers for sponsoring the custom-made, 1.25 carat blue sapphire pendant that will be given away. The pendant, with a value of $2,500, will be on display in the window of T.A. Gould Jewelers up to the event. Guests may purchase small gift boxes for $25. The owner of the gift box with the blue gem in it will be the owner of the pendant.
"Another fun way to support the foundation is to purchase a luminescent martini glass with Blue on Blue's signature blue sapphire martini drink," Von Ruden wrote. "Mulligan's is generously donating a portion of the proceeds to the foundation and the martini glass can be kept as a keepsake of the event."
Blue on Blue is the only annual fundraiser for the foundation.
"The hospital sincerely appreciates the community support it receives from the many generous businesses and people who help make the event a success," Von Ruden wrote.
The event begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and dancing. Tickets are $100 per person and available at PMHH, by calling 218-346-4500 or e-mail email@example.com. For more information, contact Von Ruden at 218-346-1210.
