Vergas child airlifted to Fargo after lawn mowing accident

Book signing, poetry event will mark Pearl Harbor Day

Pearl Harbor Day will be remembered with a special event at the In Their Own Words Veterans Museum on Friday, Dec. 7.

Special guest, Alex Sahr, will be on hand from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., to sign copies of his book, "Memoirs of a B-24 Bomber Veteran in WWII."

The book, which was originally written for Sahr's family, records the missions he participated in as a member of a 10-member crew on a B-24 Bomber.

Pearl Harbor Day will also be remembered with readings of poetry written by and about veterans.

The VFW Post 4020 of Perham is named after George Rasmussen and Joseph Schedowski, U.S. Navy, who were killed aboard the U.S.S. Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.

The ITOW Veterans Museum is located at 805 West Main, Perham.
