Boys Basketball: Perham 61, Barnesville 44


BARNESVILLE -- Hunter Salathe shot 80 percent from the field, scored 19 points in leading Perham to their sixth win of the season Friday in a 61-44 victory over conference foe Barnesville.


Salathe was 8-10 from the field and pulled in six rebounds.

Josh Nordick scored 12 points and Jordan Hein added 10 points. Nordick made all five of his field goal attempts.

Perham led 25-18 at the half but the pace picked up in the second half as the Jackets outscored the Trojans by 10 points 36-26.

Kyler Martz scored 19 points to lead the Trojans.

The Yellowjackets shot 66 percent from the field (19-29) and 32 percent from three (6-19). Perham only got to the free throw line for six attempts but made five.

The Yellowjackets held an advantage on the boards outrebounding Barnesville 29-19.

Perham improves to 6-4 on the season and 2-1 in the Heart O' Lakes Conference. Barnesville falls to 1-2 in the HOL and 5-4 overall.

The Yellowjackets will face undefeated No. 3-2A Hawley (2-0, 8-0) Tuesday, Jan. 8 in Perham.
