WADENA--The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines (5-7) snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating the New York Mills Eagles 70-42 in Wadena Friday night.

The loss is the fifth straight for the Eagles and the 10th loss in 11 games this season.

Wadena-Deer Creek's Evan VanErp led all scorers with 23 points. Ben Birch had 17.

Charlie Peeters led the Eagles with 15 points. Adam Snelgrove added 13.

The Wolverines took a commanding 15-point lead into the locker room at halftime, 38-23, and poured it on in the second half outscoring the Eagles 32-19 in the second half.

NY Mills opened the season with six straight defeats and will look to halt their current skid at five Tuesday night, Jan. 17, at home versus Henning.
