DETROIT LAKES — Perham senior Nick Bahls fired a 79 for a third place finish at the Heart O’ Lakes boys golf tournament leading the Yellowjackets to a runner-up finish to Hawley.

The Nuggets shot a team score of 316 to Perham’s 334.

Hawley’s Andrew Cook was the medalist with a score of 77. Cody Cook was second with a 78.

Cody Cook was named the HOL MVP as Hawley had the top four golfers in the conference this year: both Cooks, Willy Tickel and Nick Carpenter.

Perham golfers finished fifth through ninth and in 13th place in the season standings earning all-conference honors. (Blake Kunza (5th), Nick Bahls (6th), Eric Huus (7th), Nate Bormann (8th), Ben Nelson (9th) and Colin Gorath (13th).

Hawley won the HOL meet with four golfers in the top six. Bahls and D-G-F’s Bo Tollefson broke up the Nugget contingent. Tollefson finished fifth carding an 80.

Perham continues postseason play at the Subsection meet at Park Rapids Wednesday, May 28 at 10 a.m.
