Brandon Olson in hospital, injured at Crookston hockey game


According to a report from Crookston Times Sports Editor Derek Martin, Brandon Olson, a junior from Perham, was injured in Tuesday's hockey game at Crookston and later hospitalized with bleeding in the brain.


Olson was motionless on the ice and his condition was assessed by a doctor and trainers on the ice. Olson sat up and skated off the ice with assistance, according to Martin's report.

The injury occurred on a play that involved a check of Olson into the boards by a Crookston player.

Olson was rushed to a Fargo hospital Tuesday night where the bleeding was determined and remains hospitalized Thursday morning. He has been communicating from the hospital on Twitter.
