Business as usual for New York Mills baseball

Winning by only five runs is considered a close game this season for the No.5-ranked New York Mills baseball team.

Section 6A-South opponents, the Ashby Arrows (2-9), made the cross-county trip to NY Mills and left without scoring a run in a 5-0 loss to the Eagles, leaders of Section 6A-North (7-0).

The shutout is the second consecutive blanking by the Eagles, who are 10-0 overall.

Tyler Patron threw six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Adam Snelgrove pitched a scoreless seventh inning in a non-save situation.

Patron led at the plate as well going 2-3 with a run scored and four RBI.

Maison Roberts knocked in the remaining run for the Eagles. Roberts was 1-3 with two runs scored.

The typically potent NY Mills offense managed only four hits. Shane Novak went 1-3 with a run scored. His hit was a triple.

Ashby had four hits in the game.
