Medalist was Brady Solum from Barnesville with a 34; Connor Paul from Barnesville had a 35; Ryan Lenoue, of Barnesville, Beau Hanson from Frazee, and Brandon Slettmoe, Hawley, all tied for third with 36.

Perham scores: Evan Arvig--41; Nic Smith--41; Kyle Dykhoff--41; Cory Dykhoff--43; Dan Cavanagh--44; Alex Phelps--DNF.

Fourth place leaves the Yellowjackets currently tied with Barnesville for second in the HOL conference standings with 8 points. Hawley leads with 4; DGF--10; Battle Lake and West Central--19; Frazee--20; Breckenridge--27; LPA--30.

"We've had a busy week," Head Coach Jeff Tweeton said. "We hope to have better results."

Those results came in the twelve-team pre-section tourney, Wednesday, at Longbow Golf Club, north of Walker. Hawley and Detroit Lakes tied for first at 315. Roseau was second--319. Perham tied with Crookston with a 324.

Remaining scores: DGF--348; East Grand Forks--335; Pelican Rapids--381; Thief River--342; Wadena--358; Walker--385; and Warroad--335.

Bret Syverson, Hawley; Koltan Walker, Crookston; and Tyler Baukol from DL tied for medalist honors at 75.

Cavanagh led all Jackets tying for second with Cody Cedarberg, of Hawley, carding a 76.

"Dan played well. Shot 38-38, which included a triple bogey on a par five on the back, so he could have been at least two or three shots lower," Tweeton said.

Yellowjacket scores: Nic Smith 81, Evan Arvig 83, Alex Phelps 84, Kyle Dykhoff 90, and Kelly Nelson 93.

"So much of it goes back to their mental game, same with the other boys. Generally speaking, they're hitting the ball fine; they just don't have very good course management yet. It's coming."

Perham missed taking the following HOL conference meet in Pelican Rapids by two strokes.

Hawley has been at or near the top all season and finished first again shooting 158; DGF was second at 159; Perham took third at 160; one shot better than Barnesville's 161.

Beau Hanson won medalist with a 36 (two over par); Matt Wagner from West Central had 37. Low for Perham was Evan Arvig, with a 38.

Arvig tied with five other golfers, but lost in a scorecard playoff for the last medal spot.

Other Jacket scores: Dan Cavanagh--39; Kyle Dykhoff--41; Nic Smith--42; Cory Dykhoff--44; and Kelly Nelson--45.

HOL standings after Pelican Rapids have the Yellowjackets back in second place alone.

Hawley--5 points; Perham--11; Barnesville and DGF 12; Frazee and Battle Lake--25; Pelican and West Central--26; Breckenridge--36; and LPA--40.

The two-day Fargo North Invitational saw day one's rounds on Friday cut to nine holes due to inclement weather.

Perham placed ninth in the 11-team field with a 504.

Lukas Davison of Fargo South was medalist at the 36-hole event shooting a 113.

Fargo South took the team title with a 451, five shots better than Moorhead's 456.
