Playing with a majority of junior varsity players from the spring Laker season, Perham overpowered the DL pitchers, while collecting minimal offense.

“The reality of the situation is we are playing JV players versus varsity players and the speed of the game is much different for us,” said DL head coach Mitch McLeod. “I keep telling the players to keep things in perspective.

“I know they are getting frustrated, but I still see them trying hard.”

CJ Mulcahy had a no hitter through four innings for Perham, before allowing two hits and two runs. He struck out seven.

At the plate, he was 3-3 with four RBIs. Joe Solberg had a solo home run and Tristan Hammans added a three-run home run, as well.

Nathan Currier and Josh Still each had two base hits and two runs scored.

They added another homer in the second inning and four runs in each of the fourth and fifth frames to invoke the 10-run rule.

Connor Johnson and Andrew Dahl each scored in the fourth and fifth innings, with RBIs going to Dahl and Matt Bergren.

In the second game, Solberg and Currier shared the pitching duties. Solberg earned the victory, allowing no runs no hits and striking out four in two innings.

Currier allowed two runs on four hits in his three innings of work.

Solberg added another home run, this time a two-run shot.

All nine hitters in the lineup collected at least one hit in the game and each scored at least 1 run.
