On Campus: Goodman Wins 200 Meters to Lead NDSU Women at Bill Bergan Invitational

AMES, Iowa - Sophomore Antoinette Goodman won the 200 meters to lead the North Dakota State women's track and field team at the Bill Bergan Invitational Saturday, Jan. 28.

Goodman finished in 24.87 seconds to take home the 200 meter title. She also took second in the long jump with a mark of 17 feet 9 3/4 inches.

The Bison also had three marks crack the school's all-time top 10. In the 3,000 meters, Heidi Peterson finished ninth in 9:53.88, which ranks sixth in NDSU history.

Brittany Page was fourth in the 400 meters in a personal best time of 55.93, which is tied for seventh all-time with Kinsey Coles.

The 4x400 relay team of Page, Paige Stratioti, Brittany Schanandore and Ashlynn Simon finished second in 3:46.66, the eighth fastest time in school history.

Schanandore also led the Bison in the 800 meters, taking third in 2:09.94. She was joined in the top eight by Simon and Stratioti. Simon placed fifth in 2:13.65, while Stratioti was seventh in 2:14.21. In the mile, Maddie McClellan placed sixth in 5:03.29.

Amy Marquardt and Caitlin Mack both cleared 11-5 ¾ in the pole vault to take fifth and seventh, respectively, after tiebreakers. Katie Dockter and Emily Roesler tied for seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 35-9 ¼.

The NDSU women will compete in Lincoln, Neb. next weekend at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational.
