On Campus: Gymnastics Team Places Third at Central Michigan
Mount Pleasant, Mich. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics squad placed third at the Central Michigan University Quadrangular Sunday afternoon in McGuirk Arena. The Eagles finished with a team score of 182.375 while Central Michigan won the meet with a score of 192.525. Centenary College (La.) was second at 187.550 and UW-Eau Claire placed fourth at 178.000.
UW-L's Christa Booman finished third (38.025) while Jenna Swails was sixth (36.450) in the all-around Sunday. Booman was third on the uneven parallel bars (9.725) while tying for third on the balance beam (9.725). She was tied for fifth on the vault (9.550) and placed 15th on the floor exercise (9.150).
Swails tied for second on the floor exercise (9.650) Sunday while also tying for 15th on the balance beam (8.900).
Other top finishes for UW-L included Jen Andersen placing 11th on the uneven parallel bars (9.250) and 11th on the balance beam (9.050). Tegan Oare tied for 12th on the vault (9.425) and was tied for 15th on the balance beam (8.900).
The Eagles' Kelsi Vomacka was 14th on vault (9.300) and 20th on floor exercise (8.950).
UW-L returns to action Friday, January 13 at Seattle Pacific University (Wash.) at 9 p.m. (Central)..
