Carole M. Olds, 64, of Detroit Lakes, died Monday, September 1, 2008, at St. Mary's Innovis Health, Detroit Lakes.
Carole M. Vogt was born to Joseph and Mable (Westgard) Vogt on Sept. 4, 1943 in Detroit Lakes, where she grew up and received her education. She received her G.E.D. later in her life, of which she was very proud. On July 11, 1964 she married Donald Olds in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in rural Detroit Lakes, where they raised their family. Carole liked to cook, bake, read, hunt and fish. She also loved the time spent with her family.
Surviving Carole are her husband, Donald Olds of Detroit Lakes; three daughters, Lori (Chuck) Lorz, of Walhalla, N.D., Debra (Kevin) Sterling of Hibbing, Minn., and Lisa (Chad) Lofgren of Audubon; five sons, Donald Olds Jr., of Denver, Colo., Daniel (Laura) Olds of Detroit Lakes, David (Laurie) Olds of Hibbing, Darrell Olds of Detroit Lakes and Derek Olds, also of Detroit Lakes; 17 grandchildren; four brothers, Russell (Vicki) Vogt of of Detroit Lakes, Norman (Dorothy) Vogt of Detroit Lakes, George (Sylvia) Vogt of Detroit Lakes and Richard (Penny) Vogt of Alaska; and one sister, Jeanette Mayberry of Detroit Lakes.
Her parents and an infant brother preceded Carole in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes; there will be visitation for one hour prior to the start of services.
