Cecelia M. Fiedler, 82, of Perham, formerly of Dekalb and Faucett, Mo., passed away Feb. 11 at the Perham Hospital. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, Minn. Burial will take place at a later date at the Faucett Cemetery in Missouri.
Cecelia was born on Oct. 8, 1931, to Henry and Matilda (Dreier) Roberts in St. Joseph, Mo. and raised in Dekalb where she attended country school in Dekalb. As a teenager, she enjoyed riding horses and had five horses or her own. Following her schooling she married Edward Fiedler from Frazee, and the couple moved to Missouri, where they eventually made their home on the family farm. She enjoyed raising her two children, James and Carol. She loved to garden and spend time outdoors. She enjoyed watching Western movies and listening to country music. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and to spend time at Long Lake, near Vergas, where she also liked to fish.
Following the death of her husband, Edward, in November 2006, Cecelia moved to Perham to be near her son, Jim. Due to her health, Cecelia made her home at Thomas House in Perham where she remained until the time of her passing.
Ceclia is survived by her son, James of Perham; daughter, Carol (Ronnie) Furr of Dekalb; six grandchildren, Angie Fiedler, Jeremy Furr, Brandon Fiedler, Tiffany Fiedler, April Fiedler and Ashley Fiedler; and several great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Florence Ziemann of Detroit Lakes; and brother-in-law, Tony (Bernice) Fiedler of Henning, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives in the area.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward and one infant son, Henry.
