'Christmas in Candyland' plans taking shape
The Perham Events Committee, sponsored by local businesses and their employees, is planning the upcoming Christmas in Candyland event for the month of December.
Terrie Anderson, Chairperson of the PEC and the Christmas event, is pleased to announce the addition of "The Magic of Christmas," a spectacular light show presented by Mike and Tammy Schmidt and Bremer Bank. Many of you will remember the fantastic light display at Bremer Bank last Christmas. The lights on the figures dimmed, brightened and kept beat with the music that was playing.
This year, the show will be bigger and better, and can be seen at NP Park where the Christmas in Candyland display will be combined with The Magic of Christmas light display. Details regarding the light show schedule and music will be announced at a later date.
The recent snow reminds us it is never too early to plan holiday events. The Salvation Army red kettle will be a presence in Perham again this year and volunteers will be needed to "ring the bell" for donations.
Anyone interested can contact Ghost Runner at 346-2650.
Anderson says, "We are also asking for the community's participation in this year's Christmas event. We will need carolers, actors, a horse and buggy or wagon, volunteers to help set up and take down The Magic of Christmas display and Christmas in Candyland display, and suggestions. What do you, as a community, wish to see and do this holiday season?"
