Rural Perham murder: Pipe wrench reportedly used in brutal killing of mother, son




Christopher King McCrady, 74, of Dent died on June 11, 2014 of natural causes in his home.

"Kit" McCrady was born February 17, 1940 in Mountain Lake, Minn., to Harold and Kittie McCrady.

He is survived by his younger brother, Patrick McCrady; and sister-in-law Min-ju in South Korea.

He is also survived by his two nieces, Patrice and Allina McCrady; as well as his grandniece, Edien.

While Kit never married, he was greatly loved by all family members and friends.

Kit was a 1958 Perham High School graduate and continued to Moorhead State University where he graduated in 1962. He also attended graduate school in Bemidji, Minn., and Saint Paul, Minn. While he worked a variety of jobs throughout his life from dishwasher at Itasca State Park to child support officer in Todd County, Minn., he eventually became a teacher like his father. He taught math in Bagley, Minn., and Long Prairie, Minn., until his retirement in 1984.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28 at Perham United Methodist Church, 223 4th Avenue SE, Perham. Church will be open at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome after the service for light refreshments.
