There's a new store on Main Street in Perham that's full of color.

Elizabeth Ostrander, Linda Yager and Rachel Tumberg recently opened In With the Old, which offers refurbished furniture and knickknacks.

A grand opening will be held this weekend, March 26 at the store, located in between Greenspire Graphics and Edward Jones Financial.

Ostrander, who holds a bachelor's degree and is almost finished with a master's degree in business administration, said she decided to open a shop after unsuccessfully looking for work.

In the course of a month, the three partners have leased the shop, filled it with merchandise and opened.

"It's happened really fast," Ostrander said.

The store offers painted, refurbished furniture and other odds and ends for home décor. There are items such as glassware, utensils, unique salt and pepper shakers, "a medley of hodgepodge for the home," Ostrander said.

One thing that makes the store unique, Ostrander said, is the wide variety of colors and styles.

"We paint everything and we have so many different colors," Ostrander said. "From yellow and turquoise to green, black and gray. A whole bunch of things."

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturdays.

The store isn't taking any consigners, but will buy to help people sell items.

Ostrander said the store will consistently offer new items.

"If it doesn't sell, we repaint it or it leaves," she said. "I can't stand going into the same place and seeing the same thing over and over again."

Ostrander said she chose to open a store in Perham because she loves the area.

"I thought it would be a great place to start a business," she said. "Everyone is nice and friendly and I like that."
