Concert at ITOW museum a tribute to big bands
On Saturday, March 26 at 7 p.m., the Fargo-Moorhead Kicks Big Band will perform at the In Their Own Words (ITOW) Veterans Museum in Perham.
In a concert and dance called "A Tribute to the Swing and the Big Bands," the 16-piece group will recreate the memorable sounds of past bands such as Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw and Count Basie. Songs like "Take the 'A' Train," "I Can't Stop Loving You," "One O'Clock Jump," "April in Perham" and many more will have the audience up and dancing or tapping their toes.
This is the first performance in Perham for the F-M Kicks Big Band, but it likely won't be the last, especially now that a ballroom is opening in town. Tickets for the concert are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Refreshments will be available at the performance. All proceeds support the programs of the ITOW Veterans Museum. For reservations (highly recommended), call 218-346-7678 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
