Curtis Allen Malcolm was born on Feb. 14, 1942 in Perham, to the late Donald Duncan and Lola Mae (Grover) Malcolm. Curtis attended the Grand Rapids High School in Grand Rapids, Minn. The Malcolm family made their home in Richville in 1962.
For a short time, Curtis resided in Fargo, N.D. and in Indiana before making his home in Sanford, Fla. where he was employed in upholstery. In 2010 Curtis moved to Perham and then made his home in Richville.
Curtis was an avid fisherman and loved fishing anywhere, anytime - from Florida to Minnesota. He always enjoyed watching a good western movie. Curtis passed away at age 71 on Dec. 6 at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, Minn. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Curtis is survived by his sisters, Lenetta (Willaim) Yunk of Grand Rapids, Kathleen Berry of Perham and Marlene (Dale) Berry of Richville; brother, Warren (Rita) Malcolm of Bovey; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Preceding Curtis in death were his parents, Donald and Lola and brother, Douglas.
Memorial services were held on Dec. 15 at the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home in New York Mills with Pastor Rod Tornquist officiating. Interment will be in Richville Village Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Karvonen Funeral Home in New York Mills.
