A Funeral Mass for Dale Monson, 90, of Perham, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham with Fr. Matthew Kuhn officiating. The music will be provided by the congregation, accompanied by Nancy Krueger with special music by Ann Dardis. Pallbearers are Vern Monson, Scott Monson, Tim Monson, Jesse Monson, Jeff Doll, Jason Doll, Duane Monson and Trent Monson. Honorary Pallbearers are Doreen Winkels, Renee Milbrandt, Lynnae Monson, Monica Swanson and Kari Thompson. Dale will be laid to rest in St. Stanslaus Cemetery, Perham.

Dale Herbert Monson was born on April 20, 1923 in Closter, Neb., to Daniel and Margaret (Hanson) Monson. He resided in Petersburg, Neb., where he farmed. On May 30, 1945, Dale was united in marriage to Monica Clara Reicks at St. John Berchman in Raeville, Neb. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Dale and Monica enjoyed gardening and working the harvest together on their farm. They farmed from 1945 to 1975 when they retired and moved to Perham in 1976. Dale continued to work part-time with Swenson Potato and also worked in repairs.

Dale passed away at Perham Living on March 29, 2014. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Preceding Dale in death were his parents; son, Kenneth; grandsons, Richard Monson, Kevin Doll and Brian Doll; brother, Earl; sisters, Delores and Clara Mae.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Monica Monson of Perham; daughters, Shirley (Lee) Weyer of Garrison and Sharon (Leo) Swanson of

Perham; son, Marvin (Arlene) Monson of New York Mills; daughter-in-law, Diane Monson of Perham; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Norma Monson of Oenala, Neb.; many other relatives and a host of friends.
