Dan Cavanagh and Holly Karkela both put up top-10 finishes on day one but neither was able to put up numbers necessary to stay there on day two.

Cavanagh, a junior, finished in a four-way tie for 28th place in his fourth appearance at state shooting a total score of 154.

"Overall, I played pretty well the first day and kind of lost track the second day," Cavanagh said.
