Dent woman charged with computer destruction
Angela Kay Larson, 30, of Dent, appeared in Otter Tail County District Court on Monday, charged with destruction of a computer network and software system.
Court records state that Larson, from Oct. 9 to Oct. 15, 2012, intentionally and without authorization damaged and destroyed a computer system, computer network and computer software at a business in Fergus Falls.
Larson allegedly committed the illegal acts after being informed that her hours at work were being reduced. She was employed at a supplier of business safety products called Locators and Supplies.
The business owner told authorities that information related to sales, taxes, rentals and other records was missing.
Larson was discharged from her duties.
Four documents were later retrieved from a hard drive by a computer firm specializing in document recovery.
Larson will again appear in district court, at a date and time yet to be determined.
