Taynee Lee Lohnes, 24, of 804 E. Central, Detroit Lakes, was charged in connection with an April 2 incident in Callaway.

Callaway-Ogema Police Chief Tim Haverkamp observed a vehicle traveling south through Callaway, shortly before 10 p.m., that was drifting from side to side and crossing over the center line.

When he stopped the vehicle, he saw two adult passengers and three minor children (ages 11, 4 and 10 months) inside.

Lohnes, the driver, appeared to have slow, slurred speech and there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. She also allegedly failed or performed poorly on field sobriety tests administered at the scene, according to the complaint.

After being arrested and taken to jail for booking, she refused to take a breath test, saying she couldn’t get in touch with an attorney.

A routine search performed at the jail showed that she had a baggie containing two pills inside her bra; the pills were determined to contain the drug Percocet, for which she did not have a prescription.

Lohnes is currently in custody at the Becker County Jail awaiting her next court appearance, at an April 21 omnibus hearing.

Her bail was set at $5,000 with conditions, or $12,000 without conditions.
