Eagle wrestlers back on winning track

Late pins by Tyler Patron and Max Carlson pulled out a come-from-behind Prairie Conference wrestling victory for New York Mills over United North Central Tuesday night by a score of 36-29.

The lead changed five times up to Patron's match at 220 pounds. He won by fall at 56 seconds over the Warriors' Jake Shepersky to put the Eagles up 30-26.

Carlson mopped up with a fall at 2:32 over Landon Oshie in the heavyweight match.

United North Central won eight of 14 matches, but all six Eagles' victories were for the maximum six points, five by fall and a forfeit to top-ranked Shane Novak at 113 pounds.

Jeremiah Harper, 106 pounds, pinned Austin Bacon at 1:15.

Maison Roberts, 138 pounds, continued to wrestle well pinning Logan Walz at 2:34.

Noah Pesola returned to the lineup at 182 pounds and took out Tanner Bacon quickly in under 30 seconds at 0:29.

NY Mills has one more match before the holiday break tonight, Thursday, Dec. 22 at Parkers Prairie for a triangular with the hosts and Pelican Rapids.
