The Eagles led by eight at the break and battled in the second half to hold the lead.

Midway through the second half the Wolverines went to a full court trap that reeked havoc in the NY Mills backcourt.

Turnovers on multiple trips down the floor saw the Eagle lead evaporate. The Wolverines went up 47-46 with six minutes remaining.

Their lead would last less than two minutes. A three-point basket by Adam Snelgrove returned the lead to the Eagles at 50-48 with 4:44 remaining. Snelgrove hit from downtown three times and led the Eagles in scoring with 18 points.

NY Mills turned the turnover table on the Wolverines and consecutive steals by Isaiah Bauck and Tristan Huwe led to easy buckets and bumped the lead to 57-50 with just over two minutes remaining.

Forced to foul, Wadena-Deer Creek was unable to capitalize on late trips down the floor.

Snelgrove and Huwe sealed the game from the free throw line.

Huwe scored 17 points. Bauck hit double digits with 12.

The Wolverines' six-foot-five-inch center Jordan Reed led all scorers with 21 points.
