Elizabeth Mathilda (Frederick) Deadrick was born to Stuart and Minnie (Tiede) Frederick on July 21, 1921 in Hewitt, Minn. She graduated from Hewitt High School and St. Cloud State University. Her first teaching position out of college was at a country school.

Betty was united in marriage to Elvin LeRoy Deadrick on Feb. 14, 1943, at United Brethren Church in Hewitt. Over the years the couple lived in Hewitt, Duluth, Grand Marais, Olivia, Wadena and Perham. While living in Wadena, Betty taught elementary school there and in Bluffton and will be remembered by many as a kind and devoted teacher.

Betty was a member of Eastern Star, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, First Congregational United Church of Christ and Hosanna Ministries Church. She filled her free time with reading, crafts, crocheting and volunteering. She loved her family dearly and treasured their time together.
