Fair Oaks Lodge and Fair Oaks Apartments under new ownership and management
Fair Oaks Lodge Long-Term Care and Rehabilitation and Tri-County Health Care Home Care and Hospice in Wadena are under the new ownership of Legacy Senior Services of Minnetonka. The facilities, previously owned by Tri-County Health Care (TCHC), are also under new management by Health Dimensions Group (HDG) of Minnetonka.
"For more than 50 years, Fair Oaks Lodge has provided a full spectrum of health care services to their residents," TCHC President and CEO Joel Beiswenger said in a press release sent to the Pioneer Journal. "I am confident that this transition will be good for the residents and the staff at Fair Oaks Lodge."
Health Dimensions Group, a consultation and management company that specializes in senior and post-acute care management, will oversee the acquisition and manage the operations for Legacy Senior Services to ensure continued partnership and collaboration with Tri-County Health Care, the press release said.
Diane Rousslang of the Wadena Housing and Redevelopment Authority (WHRA) said tenants of Fair Oaks Apartments will continue to receive necessary services.
In the past, Fair Oaks Lodge representatives managed the apartments for the WHRA. With the transition, WHRA came up with a management agreement with HDG Tuesday.
"I think this transition will address more of the needed senior health care services for the community," Rousslang said.
Glen Roebuck, vice president of development for HDG, agrees.
"As health care reform and mounting regulatory and economic pressures continue, it will be imperative for different health care providers...to collaborate and promote healthy, independent living. This will ensure residents receive the right support services, in the right location, at the right time, from the right provider," Roebuck said. "Together, we will make this a reality for the citizens of Wadena."
Representatives from HDG met with employees, family members and residents to explain the proposed transition. Current staffing levels and compensation will continue for employees. However, the benefit plan will change with new ownership, and HDG will work to create a plan equal in service and cost to the benefit plan currently offered to Fair Oaks Lodge staff, according to the press release.
"Legacy Senior Services is lucky to have a staff that continuously and tirelessly demonstrates professionalism, dedication and a personal interest in enhancing the resident's quality of life," Beiswenger said in the press release.
Legacy Senior Services is a nonprofit charitable organization that was founded in 2002. It sponsors long-term care and assisted living facilities in the Minnesota communities of Frazee, Vergas and Wheaton, in addition to the Wisconsin cities of Madison, Sheboygan and Waukesha. The organization is also in Denver.
