Finn Creek to hold Holiday Open House
The Finn Creek Museum will be holding its 9th annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Sunday, October 13 from noon to 3 p.m.
Visitors are invited to visit the museum and share their Christmas memories, enjoy some coffee and pulla, and peruse the special holiday decor. Modern Finnish designs by Iittala, Marimekko, and Aarikka will be on display, as well as functional displays of sauna products, cemetary torches, and nordic candles.
Historically, the holiday open house has been the last event on the Finn Creek grounds prior to winter. It is a valuable opportunity to visit about the Finnish heritage of the New York Mills area, and also to reflect on Finland’s influence on the rest of the world.
The event is happening earlier than usual this year, as it has been held in November in the past.
Finn Creek Museum is located three miles east of New York Mills on U.S. Highway 10 to State Highway 106, south 2-1/2 miles, then 1/2 mile west on 340th Street. Museum signs are posted on Highway 106.
