Finnish design at Finn Creek Museum
Finn Creek Museum of New York Mills will celebrate its holiday open house Nov. 7 and Nov. 14, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Nov. 8 and Nov. 15, from 12 noon to 3 p.m.
The open house will feature artwork for sale by Finnish designers.
In a day and time when we make conscious decisions of how we spend money, designers in Finland are working to fill that need. The designers at Iittala are constantly promoting sustainability and "anti-throw awayism."
The Finnish designers strive not only to make their art functional, but an affordable investment. Regardless of your family heritage, Finn Creek invites people to stop out at the museum and enjoy shopping for wares from Aleksi Perälä, Kaj Franck, Aino Aalto, Klaus Haapaniemi, and Tapio Wirkala this holiday season.
Finn Creek staff look forward to sharing coffee and pulla with you at Finn Creek.
To get to Finn Creek Open Air Museum follow U.S. Highway 10 approximately three miles east of New York Mills to State Highway 106. Go 2 1/2 miles south on 106 and turn right on 340th Street. Go another 1/2 mile and Finn Creek will be on the left.
