First widespread snow of season expected in region

GRAND FORKS -- Dust off those winter driving skills. The first widespread snow of the season is quite possible by late tonight in the Red River Valley, and perhaps sooner across much of North Dakota.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 p.m. today until 7 a.m. Thursday for eastern North Dakota and the Red River border counties of northwest Minnesota.
