Flood-fighting firefighters from Otter Tail
First year Otter Tail County Commissioner John Lindquist was among a trio of Dalton Volunteer Firefighters who were at the scene of the Red River Valley flood last weekend.
The Dalton crew was on the Moorhead side of the Red River on Sunday, March 29. They are pictured at an extremely flooded residential area. Note in the background, a soggy U.S. flag that is barely visible above the water--as the flagpole is almost completely submerged.
From left, County Commissioner and firefighter John Lindquist; Mike Bye; and Dalton Fire Chief Eric Mounts--who is the nephew of longtime Ottertail Mayor Raymond "Ole" Mounts.
